Cavan Kendall PHOTOGRAPHER / ACTOR

Cavan Kendall's black and white images are dramatic and moving, always proposing an underlying story, and perhaps this is a natural crossover from movie film to still 35mm, since his passion for photography flourished alongside a successful career as an actor in film and television.

Cavan's collection of colour landscapes based on the abstract nature of the land are stunning and myriad, through different regions of the world including native landscapes of Gloucestershire, Wiltshire and Norfolk.

The painted faces of New Guinea bushmen, a lone horseman in Tibet, lush landscapes and paddy fields of Asia and his fine collection of images of Kew Gardens, illustrate the breadth of interest and mastery of mood and texture within Cavan Kendall's photographic portfolio. Cavan's America Collection is both documentary and illusory, rarely without irony.

Only a few of Cavan's photographs can be seen on this website, although his portfolio is vast and his images more varied than can be shown here. We invite you to contact us for further details on the entire portfolio and prints.

As a child actor, Cavan acted in many roles on British TV. There were numerous plays and films to his credit throughout his life, the latest being the highly accredited modern day thriller 'Sexy Beast' in which he played alongside Ben Kingsley, Ray Winstone and Ian McShane.

Cavan Kendall came from a famous British acting family; his grandmother, Marie Kendall, was the darling of nineteen-twenties' music hall and his sister, Kay Kendall, the glamorous star of British film of the 1950's ('Genevieve'), who died tragically young.
